Doing Business With PADSOFT, Inc.

This document is designed to answer common questions about doing business with my consulting company, PADSOFT, Inc.

Pricing

I bill hourly consulting on a two level pricing system based on my cost of doing business.

  • For longer term projects, or several small projects, covered under a single PO. This is my normal preferred way of doing business.

  • For small consulting oriented projects (typically less than 80 hours) covered under separate PO's. (Slightly more expensive.)

It is common for me to request that projects be performed as two tasks. The first task is project design and the second task is project implementation. Project designs are normally worked on as hourly consulting projects.  On request I can bid a fixed price for the implementation task.

Area of Service and Travel Expenses

Services are per hour in the Houston Texas area or a minimum of 10 hours per day portal to portal plus normal travel and lodging expenses for travel out of Houston area. I use $1,850.00 per trip as a planning number for T&L of 5 days to most cities in the continental United States. Under a blanket PO (single amount covering both labor and travel) it is to my best interest to minimize T&L.

I have a well provisioned lab and typically most development work is done there with site visits for status meetings, unique testing, and deliveries.

Terms

I conduct my business via PADSOFT, Inc., a Texas Corporation. PADSOFT, Inc. has a federal tax id of: 76-0063547.

PADSOFT, Inc. requires receipt of a purchase order prior to start of work. This can be delivered by electronically or mail. The terms of this PO should be NET 30, 1.5% monthly. I do not require or encourage contracts but will gladly review any paper a client may desire.

The PO can either call out specific tasks, or can be a blanket PO covering the total hours and expenses to be used under approval of a contract manager from the client. I normally prefer the blanket approach as it usually provides a easier means to handle unforeseen changes down the road.

What I typically deliver.

I want my customer to get what they pay for. If I develop code that you pay for, you get it - source and all.

My goal is to provide enough documentation in my deliverables that my customer can support the project results without me. I am, however, hopeful that I will be allowed to continue support because you are satisfied.

Estimates

Send me email at pdennett at padsoft.com with a description a task and I'll tell you if I am suitable to the task and provide feedback on how to proceed with a possible project. If I don't feel I am suitable to the task (I do lots of things, but not all) I possibly can steer you to a more appropriate resource.

Thanks for the consideration of using my services.
